Locomotives can stall on points or dirty track, a stay alive will store energy to help it in these situations. We use various capacitors from different suppliers to make sure they fit the model without being visible. They will typically give 2-3 seconds of power depending on space available. We can only fit a capacitor to a suitable decoder such as Zimo and ESU (Loksound) decoders.
